The Salvation Army of Sacramento's Alhambra Preschool is a quality Early Care and Education Program committed to bringing excellent child care and education to families who live and work in Oak Park, Downtown, South Sacramento and surrounding areas. We provide year-round, full-day, affordable preschool and child care for children ages 3 to 5 years old.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide the best quality care and education for young children as well as support for their families. Our goal is to provide your child with the experiences and skills that will allow them a successful transition to kindergarten.

Our Staff
Providing children with a high quality and continuity of care. We staff each classroom with an early childhood professional. Many of our staff have degrees in Early childhood education, hold a California teaching permit and have years of experience teaching preschool and working with families. We also have staff who are fluent in Spanish.

Eligibility & Admissions
Our program is a California State Preschool Program (CSPP), and we are licensed to serve children from ages 3 to entry into Kindergarten. Per our license all children must be toilet trained.

Eligibility will depend on your current income, if any. Fees are assessed on a sliding scale determined by the California Department of Social Services. We look at your monthly gross income and family size to determine if you will need to pay a monthly fee or be eligible for free. Keep reading for a quick summary to see if you are eligible for free!
Below are the rates based on family size:
To be eligible for free with a family size of 2, the monthly gross income needs to be under $5,407.
To be eligible for free with a family size of 3, the monthly gross income needs to be under $6,115.
To be eligible for free with a family size of 4, the monthly gross income needs to be under $7,081.
To be eligible for free with a family size of 5, the monthly gross income needs to be under $8,214.
If any of these don't apply to you and you make more than the free eligibility amount do not worry. You still qualify to enroll in our program but will need to pay a very affordable fee. Admission will depend on whether you are employed, seeking work, and/or are involved in any training/school.
If you are employed, your hours of approval will be based around your work schedule.
If you are seeking work, you are only eligible for part time 7:30am-12:30pm M-F or no more than 130 hours per month.
If you are in school/training, you may be eligible for full/part time.
