The Salvation Army of Sacramento's Alhambra Preschool is a quality Early Care and Education Program committed to bringing excellent child care and education to families who live and work in Oak Park, Downtown, South Sacramento and surrounding areas. We provide year-round, full-day, affordable preschool and child care for children ages 3 to 5 years old.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the best quality care and education for young children as well as support for their families. Our goal is to provide your child with the experiences and skills that will allow them a successful transition to kindergarten.

Our Keys to Success

Providing an enriched learning environment using a child-directed, integrated curriculum that fosters positive social emotional growth while developing a lifelong love of learning. We also ensure that children learn and play in beautiful, clean indoor and outdoor environments that promote responsibility and connect children to nature.

Our Staff

Providing children with a high quality and continuity of care. We staff each classroom with an early childhood professional. Many of our staff have degrees in Early childhood education, hold a California teaching permit and have years of experience teaching preschool and working with families. We also have staff who are fluent in Spanish.

Eligibility & Admissions

We are a licensed California State Preschool Program (CSPP) providing high-quality early education for eligible children prior to kindergarten entry.

Eligibility is determined according to California Department of Education (CDE) guidelines and is based on your family's monthly gross income, family size, and/or other qualifying criteria. Eligible families may qualify for free or reduced-cost preschool services.

We also offer a limited number of private pay enrollment opportunities based on space availability. Please contact our office for current availability.

Children enrolled in our program must be fully toilet trained prior to enrollment.

Your certified schedule of care is based on your family's documented need, such as employment, seeking employment, education, vocational training, or other qualifying circumstances, in accordance with California Department of Education requirements.
